Subject: Various amendments to statutes regulating guides and outfitters. Summary/Major Elements: This act clarifies and modifies various provisions regulating guides and outfitters. A definition of "guide services," and other definitions addressing what activities are subject to the guide and outfitter statutes are added. The act clarifies that guide services subject to the act are guide or packing services for the purposes of taking big or trophy game. The act requires advertisements for guide services to list at least one outfitter license number with the advertisement. The act clarifies that the board of outfitters and professional guides is authorized to investigate violations of the guides and outfitters act and may require a complainant to appear before the board in any investigation. The act adds to the guide's and outfitter's license requirements that the applicant not have committed any act for which a license could be suspended or revoked. Increases monetary penalty for violations of the guide and outfitter act from $2,000 to $5,000 and eliminates the potential of a sentence of up to one year imprisonment.
