Summary/Major Elements: This Resolution to the President of the United States and the Congress of the United States supports the development of energy resources in an area of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge ("ANWR") known as the 1002 study area. The Resolution sprang from the Energy Producing States Coalition and supports the efforts of the State of Alaska to develop oil and gas reserves in the coastal plain of ANWR. The Resolution states there are (10,400,000,000) barrels of recoverable oil in the 1002 study area and that development of those reserves is essential to maintaining the viability of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline.
