Subject: Resolution related to health plan coverage of sterilization, abortifacients and contraception. Summary/Major Elements: Recently the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services reaffirmed a rule that all private health plans must cover contraceptives. Certain religious affiliations view paying for contraceptives as immoral and against their religion and view the rule as a violation of conscience rights. This resolution requests Congress and the President of the United States to reverse the policy of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services regarding health plan coverage of sterilization, abortifacients and contraception and calls upon all Americans to oppose the rule.
