Subject: Creates the applied agricultural research funding program. Summary/Major Elements: This act creates the applied agricultural research funding program to be administered by the department of agriculture. The director of the department is directed to adopt rules to implement the program. The program provides funding for grants to conduct agricultural research by qualified entities. This act specifies requirements for grants, including that the research be disseminated to the appropriate sectors of Wyoming agriculture. This act provides an appropriation of two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000.00) for the grant program. Comments: This act requires a report to the Joint Agriculture Interim Committee by November 1, 2013.
