Reported Out of Committee House of Origin

Plain English: This amendment allows licensed swimming pool contractors to request official inspections for their work instead of requiring the property owner to do it.

  • Licensed contractors can now ask local governments to perform required inspections for building, fixing, or maintaining pools.
  • The rule applies when a contractor is working on residential or commercial pools under their own license.
  • Inspections are allowed if the work is done by the licensed contractor, their employees, or supervised subcontractors.
  • This change only takes effect starting October 1, 2026.
  • The text does not explain what happens if a local government refuses to perform an inspection requested under this rule.
