Overview

Revises
the date by which a city or town (municipality's) Library Trustees must
complete their annual report.

History

A municipality's governing body can appoint residents as
trustees of its library. A municipality with fewer than 3,000 inhabitants may
have six trustees. All other municipalities may have nine trustees. Trustees
hold office for three years with no compensation. The trustees have charge of
the library and all library property (A.R.S. ��

The annual report submitted by Library Trustees must include:
1) a full statement of all property and money received, where it's derived from,
how it's used and expended; 2) the number of books, journals and other
publications on hand; and 3) other statistics, information and suggestions that
may be of general interest (

Be it
enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1. Section 9-418, Arizona Revised
Statutes, is amended to read:

9-418.

Annual reports by trustees

A. The trustees, on or before the
first

to the governing body of the city or town containing:

1. A full statement of all property and
money

2. The number of books, journals and other
publications on hand, the number added by gift, purchase or otherwise during
the year, the number lost or missing and the number and kind of those loaned.
