HB2233 establishes a fund in Arizona to manage money from the federal Rural Health Transformation Program, requiring public meetings and legislative approval for spending.

What This Bill Does

  • Establishes the Arizona Rural Health Transformation Fund to hold money given by the federal government through the Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP).
  • Requires AHCCCS to manage this fund and spend its money only after getting permission from the Joint Legislative Budget Committee.

Who It Names or Affects

  • People who live and work in rural parts of Arizona may benefit from health care improvements funded by this program.
  • AHCCCS is responsible for managing the fund and organizing public meetings to gather input before spending money.
