Overview

Appropriates
$750,000 from the state General Fund (GF) in FY 2027 to the Arizona State Parks
Board (ASPB) for the development of a state park at Del Rio Springs.

History

ASPB is a seven-member board composed of the State Land
Commissioner and six members appointed by the Governor. ASPB exists to select,
acquire, preserve, establish and maintain areas of natural features, scenic
beauty, historical and scientific interest, zoos and botanical gardens for the
education, pleasure, recreation and health of the people (A.R.S. ��

).

In FY 2024, $7 million was appropriated from the state GF and
distributed to ASPB for the purpose of establishing a new state park at the
headwaters of the Verde River. The proposed park would be located on a land
parcel known as Del Rio Springs Ranch, five miles north of Chino Valley,
adjacent to the Upper Verde River Wildlife Area and Prescott National Forest (
JLBC
).�

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.
Appropriation;
Arizona state parks board; Del Rio Springs; state park; exemption

A. The sum of $750,000 is
appropriated from the state general fund in fiscal year 2026-2027 to the
Arizona state parks board for development and necessary infrastructure at Del
Rio Springs for a state park.

B. The appropriation made
in subsection A of this section is exempt from the provisions of section
35-190, Arizona Revised Statutes, relating to lapsing of appropriations.
