Purpose

Appropriates
$3,640,000 from the state General Fund (GF) in FY 2027 to the Hyperbaric Oxygen
Therapy for Military Veterans Fund (Fund).

Background

The Fund consists of private donations, grants, bequests
and any other monies and is administered by the Arizona Department of Veterans'
Services (ADVS) to provide financial assistance to veterans for hyperbaric
oxygen therapy. The Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy for Military Veterans Advisory Committee,
with members consisting of the Director of ADVS and four Governor appointees
who must be National Guard unit commanders, doctors or active or retired
military personnel, must: 1) determine how to award monies from the Fund; 2) establish
the application process for financial assistance and revise as necessary; and
3) make other recommendations as necessary. ADVS may seek a reimbursement of Fund
monies that are used to pay for hyperbaric oxygen therapy for a veteran if the
therapy was fully or partially covered by private insurance or any other entity

Be it
enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.
Appropriation;
hyperbaric oxygen therapy for military veterans fund

The sum of $3,640,000 is appropriated
from the state general fund in fiscal year 2026-2027 to the hyperbaric oxygen
therapy for military veterans fund established by section 41-610.01,
Arizona Revised Statutes.
