WHEREAS, Representative Stanley Jack "Stan" Berry, of Dover, Arkansas, 19
passed away at the age of seventy-one (71) on Monday, March 23, 2026; and 20
21
WHEREAS, Representative Stan Berry was born to Jack Berry and Elaine 22
Churchill Berry on May 20, 1954, in Dover, Arkansas; and 23
24
WHEREAS, Representative Stan Berry was dedicated to public service 25
throughout the course of his entire life, serving in the National Guard as 26
well as on the Dover School Board, the Dover City Council, the Tri-County 27
Water Commission, and the Pope County 911 Board; and 28
29
WHEREAS, Representative Stan Berry served his community as a charter 30
member of the Dover Lions Club for more than thirty-seven (37) years, where 31
he was a Melvin Jones Fellow; and 32
33
WHEREAS, for his efforts to support and grow his local community, the 34
Dover Chamber of Commerce lauded Representative Stan Berry as Citizen of the 35
Year and awarded him the Good Samaritan Award; and 36

WHEREAS, Representative Stan Berry was a faithful member of Dover 2
Cumberland Presbyterian Church and served there as an elder; and 3

WHEREAS, Representative Stan Berry was a passionate and steadfast 5
advocate for education, driven by his belief that strong schools are the 6
foundation of a strong community; and 7

WHEREAS, throughout his career as a representative for District Forty-9
Four (44), Representative Stan Berry was a champion for local schools, such 10
as his local Dover School District, and for educators such as his wife and 11
daughters; and 12
13
WHEREAS, during his seven (7) terms in the House of Representatives, 14
Representative Stan Berry served on a variety of committees, including most 15
recently on the Joint Committee on Military and Veteran Affairs, the House 16
Committee on Public Transportation, the House Committee on State Agencies and 17
Governmental Affairs, and the Legislative Joint Auditing Committee during the 18
Ninety-Fifth General Assembly; and 19
20
WHEREAS, Representative Stan Berry served in a variety of leadership 21
roles in the House of Representatives, including as Chair of the Committee on 22
Educational Institutions of the Legislative Joint Auditing Committee, Chair 23
of the House Juvenile Justice and Child Support Subcommittee, and Vice Chair 24
of the House Committee on Judiciary; and 25
26
WHEREAS, Representative Stan Berry is survived by his wife of over 27
thirty (30) years, Mona Berry, his children, Blake Berry, Casey Taylor, 28
Justin Singleton, and Kelsey Scott, and by his nine (9) grandchildren; and 29

WHEREAS, Representative Stan Berry was known for his warmth, for the 31
deep and abiding love that he showed to those closest to him, for his 32
lifelong commitment to service to others, and for the passion he showed in 33
improving the lives of people in his local community; and 34

WHEREAS, Representative Stan Berry will be sorely missed by the staff 36

and members of the House of Representatives for his kindness and strong 1
desire to help those around him, 2

NOW THEREFORE, 4
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL 5
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS: 6

THAT the House of Representatives remember Representative Stanley Jack 8
"Stan" Berry and honor his legacy of service to his local community and to 9
the State of Arkansas. 10
11
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT upon adoption of this resolution, an appropriate 12
copy be provided to Mona Berry and family by the Chief Clerk of the House of 13
Representatives. 14
