WHEREAS, the Rogers Heritage High School War Eagles won the 2025 Class 18
6A Boys Soccer State Championship held on May 23, 2025, at Estes Stadium at 19
the University of Central Arkansas; and 20
21
WHEREAS, the War Eagles won the championship game by besting the 22
Catholic High School for Boys Rockets by a score of three points to one point 23
(3-1), winning on penalty kicks; and 24
25
WHEREAS, the War Eagles concluded the 2024-2025 season with a record of 26
eleven wins, three losses, and eight ties (11-3-8); and 27

WHEREAS, the War Eagles team members are Nicolas Moreno, Gavin Ahlum, 29
Isaac Barbosa, Axel Perez, Alonso Salas, Ivan Soto, Richard Tapia, Ivan 30
Contreras, Kristopher Moreno, Gustavo Mezquita, Christian Soto, Victor De 31
Tudo I Mas, Angel Portillo, Dydder Flores, Francesco Turbati Zaniboni, Victor 32
Morales, Santiago Vizzuett, Ethan Dalferes, Angel Aparicio, Jeffrey Argueta, 33
Jared Matar, Andy Bonilla, Marvin Calderon, and Joseph Maria; and 34

WHEREAS, the War Eagles' team managers were Alexis Arreaga, Emiliano 36

WHEREAS, the War Eagles were supported by Athletic Trainer Cabe Bynum 3
and Best Supporter James Sandoval; and 4

WHEREAS, the War Eagles were led by Head Coach Christhian Saavedra and 6
Assistant Coaches Horacio Olvera, Lucas Almeida, Marvin Quijada, Mario 7
Quintana, Ricky Ochoa, Wayne Levering, and Chase Cook; and 8

WHEREAS, War Eagles team members Nicolas Moreno, Kristopher Moreno, 10
Ivan Soto, Ivan Contreras, and Jospeh Maria earned First Team All-Conference 11
Honors; and 12

WHEREAS, War Eagles team members Alonso Salas, Isaac Barbosa, and 14
Francesco Turbati Zaniboni earned Second Team All-Conference Honors; and 15

WHEREAS, War Eagles team member Nicolas Moreno was honored as 6A West 17
Conference Goalkeeper of the Year, as Most Valuable Player in the 2025 Class 18
6A Boys Soccer State Championship, and was honored as Goalkeeper of the Year 19
for Arkansas, Goalkeeper of the Year for the Region, and one of thirteen 20
students nation-wide to make the United Soccer Coaches Association All-21
America list; and 22

WHEREAS, Head Coach Saavedra said of the victory and team "We are proud 24
of our team and the way they represented our Heritage Community on the 25
biggest stage. This team made history winning the first ever state 26
championship for our school and left a legacy of resilience and continuous 27
pursuit of excellence.", 28

NOW THEREFORE, 30
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL 31
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS: 32

THAT the House of Representatives recognize the Rogers Heritage High 34
School War Eagles as the 2025 Class 6A Boys Soccer State Champions. 35

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT upon adoption, a copy of this resolution shall be 1
provided to Head Coach Christhian Saavedra by the Chief Clerk of the House of 2
