MOUNTIES GIRLS' CROSS COUNTRY TEAM AS 16
THE 2024 6A STATE CHAMPIONS. 17

WHEREAS, the 2024 Rogers High School Lady Mounties girls' cross country 19
team won the 6A State Championship in Hot Springs, Arkansas, on Friday, 20
November 8, 2024; and 21

WHEREAS, the Lady Mounties won the 6A State Championship with a final 23
score of forty-six (46) points; and 24
25
WHEREAS, the Lady Mounties' victory in the 6A State Championship marks 26
a historic achievement by making the team back-to-back 4A State Champions in 27
2023 and 2024; and 28

WHEREAS, the Lady Mounties were 6A West Conference Champions, and 30
placed fourth (4th) in the Nike Cross Regionals - South Championship held on 31
November 23, 2024; and 32

WHEREAS, the Lady Mounties team members are Evelyn Blair, Kayla Eggers, 34
Emma McCarty, Miyah Motley, Lydia Pope, Ana Raya, Brithany Salazar, Anna 35
Scudder, Elizabeth Scudder, Katherine Scudder, Amilia Stoner, Lilly Beshears, 36

WHEREAS, the Lady Mounties were led by Head Coach Powell Bryant and 5
assistant coaches Jeff Barker, John Doss, and Lisa Lauschke; and 6

WHEREAS, Lady Mounties Head Coach Powell Bryant stated about the team 8
and season, "This was an unbelievable season! The Lady Mounties did not lose 9
a meet all year. We had [an] outstanding performance from Lilly Beshears 10
[who was the] individual state champion and [set a] new meet record. Lilly 11
also broke the overall state record at the Chile Pepper XC meet with a time 12
of 16:40 and led the team to winning the meet overall [which made the Lady 13
Mounties the] first Arkansas girls' team to win this meet. Other outstanding 14
performances were from the triplet sisters - Kate, Lizzy, [and] Anna 15
Scudder... [and from] Kayla Eggers, Malaya Johnson, Samantha Schmersahl, and 16
Hattie Ray Beshears.", 17

NOW THEREFORE, 19
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL 20
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS: 21

THAT the House of Representatives recognize the Rogers High School Lady 23
Mounties Girls' cross country team as the 2024 6A State Champions. 24

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT upon adoption of this resolution, a copy be 26
provided to Head Coach Powell Bryant by the Chief Clerk of the House of 27
Representatives. 28
