WHEREAS, the Rogers High School Mounties boys' tennis team won the 2024 20
Class 6A State Tennis Tournament held on October 15, 2024, at the Burns Park 21
Tennis Center in North Little Rock, Arkansas; and 22

WHEREAS, the season record for the Mounties was eleven wins and one 24
loss (11-1); and 25
26
WHEREAS, the Mounties team members are Harrison Deer, Aidan Matthews, 27
and William Edwards; and 28

WHEREAS, the Mounties Head Coach is Matt Fulton; and 30

WHEREAS, Harrison Deer was the 2024 Class 6A State Tennis Tournament 32
Singles runner-up, the 2024 Overall State Singles Champion, and earned All-33
Conference and All-State honors; and 34

WHEREAS, Aidan Matthews and William Edwards were the 2024 Class 6A 36

State Tennis Tournament Doubles champions, the 2024 Overall State Doubles 1
runners-up, and earned All-Conference and All-State honors; and 2

WHEREAS, Harrison Deer was runner-up in the Class 6A Singles 4
Championship; and 5

WHEREAS, Head Coach Matt Fulton said of Harrison Deer, “Harrison is a 7
very accomplished singles player with exceptional tennis skills, particularly 8
his huge serve and forehand. Harrison uses his power shots to keep his 9
opponents off-balance and under constant pressure."; and 10

WHEREAS, Head Coach Matt Fulton said of Aidan Matthews, "Aidan is a 12
long and athletic tennis player who is able to dominate the net in doubles 13
keeping his opponents uncomfortable. Aidan has an amazing understanding of 14
the game of tennis."; and 15

WHEREAS, Head Coach Matt Fulton said of William Edwards, "William has a 17
big serve and forehand, which keeps his doubles opponents on defense. 18
William is also long and athletic, which is evident in his exceptional 19
play.”, 20

NOW THEREFORE, 22
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL 23
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS: 24

THAT the House of Representatives commend the Rogers High School 26
Mounties boys' tennis team for its victory in the 2024 Class 6A State Tennis 27
Championship. 28

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT upon adoption of this resolution, a copy be 30
provided to Head Coach Matt Fulton by the Chief Clerk of the House of 31
Representatives. 32
