LINEWORKER APPRECIATION DAY AT THE STATE 17
CAPITOL AND TO COMMEND THE MEN AND WOMEN 18
WHO SERVE ARKANSAS AS UTILITY 19
LINEWORKERS. 20

WHEREAS, the men and women who serve as utility lineworkers build and 22
maintain electric, telephone, cable television, and fiber optic lines; and 23
24
WHEREAS, lineworkers are often first responders during storms and other 25
catastrophic events, working to make the scene safe for other public safety 26
heroes; and 27

WHEREAS, lineworkers work with thousands of volts of electricity high 29
atop power lines twenty-four (24) hours a day, three hundred sixty-five (365) 30
days a year, to keep electricity flowing; and 31

WHEREAS, lineworkers often work under dangerous conditions away from 33
their families to construct and maintain the energy infrastructure of this 34
state; and 35

WHEREAS, lineworkers put their lives on the line every day with little 1
recognition from the community regarding the danger of their work; and 2

WHEREAS, it is most fitting and proper that the lineworkers of Arkansas 4
be recognized for their effective and dedicated service to the people of the 5
State of Arkansas, 6

NOW THEREFORE, 8
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL 9
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS: 10

THAT the House of Representatives proclaim April 21, 2026, as Arkansas 12
Lineworker Appreciation Day at the State Capitol and commend, on behalf of 13
their constituents, the men and women who serve Arkansas as utility 14
lineworkers for their efforts in keeping the power on and protecting public 15
safety. 16
