2025 AND 2026 CLASS 1A STATE CHAMPIONS. 17

WHEREAS, the Earle High School Bulldogs boys' basketball team won the 19
2025 Class 1A state championship at Bank OZK Arena in Hot Springs, Arkansas 20
on March 15, 2025; and 21

WHEREAS, in 2025, the Bulldogs defeated the Marked Tree Indians by a 23
score of forty-eight (48) to forty-four (44); and 24
25
WHEREAS, in 2025, the Bulldogs finished their season with a record of 26
twenty-five wins and four losses (25-4); and 27

WHEREAS, in 2025, the Bulldogs team members were Clifton Wren, Ta'ron 29
Hurst, Dereck Lately Jr., Antonius Dorsey, Darion Maples, La'bryant Harris, 30
Jordyn Williams, Dontay Bell, Henry Williams, Jayln Robinson, Aiden Davis, 31
Nassir Doyle, and Tye Sanders; and 32

WHEREAS, in 2025, the Bulldogs team managers were Detaveon Holmes and 34
Zavion Maples; and 35

WHEREAS, in 2025, the Bulldogs were led by Head Coach Carl Miller, 1
Assistant Coach Zena Witherspoon, and Assistant Coach Dale Walker; and 2

WHEREAS, Head Coach Carl Miller said of the victory in 2025, "I'm so 4
proud of these young men. We had a great season. We had a lot going on and 5
these young men stood behind me... I love all of them and they came through 6
tonight. If we believe and stick together and play defense, we'll get 7
through it"; and 8

WHEREAS, the Earle High School Bulldogs boys' basketball team won the 10
2026 Class 1A state championship at Bank OZK Arena in Hot Springs, Arkansas 11
on March 12, 2026; and 12

WHEREAS, in 2026, the Bulldogs defeated the Clarendon Lions by a score 14
of seventy (70) to fifty-eight (58); and 15

WHEREAS, in 2026, the Bulldogs finished their season with a record of 17
twenty-nine wins and three losses (29-3); and 18

WHEREAS, in 2026, the Bulldogs team members were Jaden Little, Ta'ron 20
Hurst, Derek Lately Jr., Antonius Dorsey, Aiden Davis, Darion Maples, Tye 21
Sanders, Jordyn Williams, Clifton Wren, Dontay Bell, Keilon Leggiton, Nassir 22
Doyle, Henry Williams, Xavier Jones, Rickey Butler, Donovan Smith, and 23
Markevious Perkins; and 24

WHEREAS, in 2026, the Bulldogs team managers were Detaveon Holmes, 26
Zavion Maples, and Jaylen Crawford; and 27

WHEREAS, in 2026, the Bulldogs were led by Head Coach Carl Miller, 29
Assistant Coach Zena Witherspoon, and Assistant Coach Odell Brown; and 30

WHEREAS, Coach Carl Miller said of the victory in 2026, "Man, it means 32
a lot for the school, the community, and the county. It means a lot because 33
we have a lot of changes going on in and out of our school a lot of times, 34
but these guys persevere and fight. I just thank God for the opportunity to 35
be part of it"; and 36

WHEREAS, in 2025 and 2026, team member Ta'ron Hurst was named the 1A 2
state championship's Most Valuable Player; and 3

WHEREAS, as of 2026, the Bulldogs have won twelve (12) state 5
championships, including back-to-back titles in 2025 and 2026, as well as 6
three (3) championships in a row in 2016, 2017, and 2018; and 7

WHEREAS, Earle High School swept both the boys' and girls' Class 1A 9
state championship in 2026, 10

NOW THEREFORE, 12
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE 13
STATE OF ARKANSAS: 14

THAT the Senate recognize the Earle High School Bulldogs boys' 16
basketball team as the 2025 and 2026 Class 1A state champions. 17

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT upon adoption, a copy of this resolution be 19
presented to Head Coach Carl Miller by the Secretary of the Senate. 20
