WHEREAS, the Legacy Keepers Nurse Honor Guard of Arkansas was 22
established in 2025 by a group of nurses and community supporters; and 23

WHEREAS, the Legacy Keepers Nurse Honor Guard of Arkansas was formed to 25
ensure that nurses throughout Arkansas are remembered, respected, and 26
celebrated for their selfless service in life and upon passing; and 27

WHEREAS, the Legacy Keepers Nurse Honor Guard of Arkansas carries out 29
the spirit of nursing through service in local communities throughout 30
Arkansas; and 31

WHEREAS, the Legacy Keepers Nurse Honor Guard of Arkansas honors the 33
unwavering dedication of nurses by preserving their memory through personal 34
and meaningful tributes; and 35

WHEREAS, the Legacy Keepers Nurse Honor Guard of Arkansas celebrates 1
the lives of nurses who have served their communities, supports nurses 2
throughout Arkansas who continue to care and inspire others through their 3
service, and upholds the highest standards of the nursing profession; and 4

WHEREAS, the Legacy Keepers Nurse Honor Guard of Arkansas solemnly 6
recognizes the lives and service of nurses who have passed away through 7
dignified tributes, ceremonies, and preserving stories, in order to ensure 8
that the dedication of those nurses to healing and humanity is never 9
forgotten; and 10

WHEREAS, the work of the Legacy Keepers Nurse Honor Guard of Arkansas 12
upholds the legacy of nursing as a sacred calling and honors those nurses who 13
gave so much of themselves throughout their lives and careers; and 14

WHEREAS, the Legacy Keepers Nurse Honor Guard of Arkansas is committed 16
to excellence in every action, leading by example, acting with integrity, and 17
serving and representing the nursing profession with professionalism and 18
pride; and 19

WHEREAS, the members of the Legacy Keepers Nurse Honor Guard of 21
Arkansas embody compassion, ethical practice, and leadership throughout each 22
and every tribute and community engagement; and 23

WHEREAS, the Legacy Keepers Nurse Honor Guard of Arkansas inspires 25
people throughout Arkansas with the sharing of stories of nurses who made a 26
difference in the lives of others and by uplifting those nurses who continue 27
such journeys each and every day; and 28

WHEREAS, through recognition, mentorship, and advocacy, the Legacy 30
Keepers Nurse Honor Guard of Arkansas empowers nurses through all stages of 31
their lives and careers and champions the essential role that nurses play in 32
their local communities; and 33

WHEREAS, the Legacy Keepers Nurse Honor Guard of Arkansas carries the 35
spirit of nursing through service in local communities; and 36

WHEREAS, the Legacy Keepers Nurse Honor Guard of Arkansas is committed 2
to making a meaningful difference in local communities and in the lives of 3
nurses through public events, educational outreach, and partnerships with 4
other service organizations; and 5

WHEREAS, the founding board members of the Legacy Keepers Nurse Honor 7
Guard of Arkansas are President Paula Day, RN, Vice President Dollie Carey, 8
BSN, RN, Secretary Madison Besancon, Treasurer Kayla Lawrence, Chapter Leader 9
and Member at Large Tina Copock, LPN, Member at Large Bud Gates, Member at 10
Large Sheila Nolen, ADN, RN, and Member at Large Chrissy Matthews; and 11

WHEREAS, the Legacy Keepers Nurse Honor Guard of Arkansas continues the 13
nurses' mission of care throughout all of Arkansas, 14

NOW THEREFORE, 16
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE 17
STATE OF ARKANSAS: 18

THAT the Senate recognize and commend the Legacy Keepers Nurse Honor 20
Guard of Arkansas for outstanding service and leadership to the profession of 21
nursing throughout the State of Arkansas. 22
23
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT upon adoption, a copy of this resolution be 24
presented to the leadership of the Legacy Keepers Nurse Honor Guard of 25
Arkansas by the Secretary of the Senate. 26
