AB 822, Elhawary.
Commission on the State of Hate.
Existing law establishes the Commission on the State of Hate in the state government, and specifies the goals of the commission, including providing resources and assistance to various state agencies, law enforcement agencies, and the public on the state of hate to keep these entities and the public informed of emerging trends in hate-related crime. Existing law requires the commission to, among other things, issue an Annual State of Hate Commission Report to the Governor and the Legislature, as specified. Existing law repeals these provisions on January 1, 2027.
This bill would
extend the repeal date until January 1, 2031, and would make conforming changes.
