CONCERNING THE TRANSFER OF MONEY FROM THE LIMITED GAMING101
FUND TO OTHER CASH FUNDS.102

Joint Budget Committee. Under current law, the state treasurer
is required to transfer $15 million from the limited gaming fund to the
Colorado travel and tourism promotion fund at the end of each state fiscal
year. Beginning in the 2025-26 state fiscal year, the bill reduces the
amount of the annual transfer from the limited gaming fund to the
Colorado travel and tourism promotion fund to $14 million and requires

a new annual transfer of $1 million from the limited gaming fund to the
museum and preservation operations account within the state historical
fund.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado:1
SECTION 1. In Colorado Revised Statutes, 44-30-701, amend2
(2)(a)(I); and add (2)(a)(I.5) as follows:3
44-30-701. Limited gaming fund - created - repeal.4
(2) (a) Except as provided in subsection (2)(b) of this section, at5
the end of the 2012-13 state fiscal year and at the end of each state fiscal6
year thereafter, the state treasurer shall transfer the state share as follows:7
(I) AT THE END OF THE 2012-13 STATE FISCAL YEAR AND EACH8
FISCAL YEAR THEREAFTER , THROUGH THE END OF THE 2024-25 STATE9
FISCAL YEAR, fifteen million dollars to the Colorado travel and tourism10
promotion fund created in section 24-49.7-106;11
(I.5) AT THE END OF THE 2025-26 STATE FISCAL YEAR AND EACH12
STATE FISCAL YEAR THEREAFTER:13
(A) ONE MILLION DOLLARS TO THE MUSEUM AND PRESERVATION14
OPERATIONS ACCOUNT WITHIN THE STATE HISTORICAL FUND, CREATED IN15
SECTION 44-30-1201 (5)(c)(I)(B); AND16
(B) FOURTEEN MILLION DOLLARS TO THE COLORADO TRAVEL AND17
TOURISM PROMOTION FUND CREATED IN SECTION 24-49.7-106.18
SECTION 2. In Colorado Revised Statutes, 44-30-1201, amend19
(5)(c)(I)(B) as follows:20
44-30-1201. State historical fund - administration - legislative21
declaration - state museum cash fund - rules - definition.22
(5) (c) (I) All money received by the society from limited gaming23
revenues pursuant to section 44-30-701 (1)(d)(II) shall be transmitted to24

the state treasurer, who shall credit the same to the state historical fund.1
Eighty percent of the state historical fund administered by the society is2
divided into the following two accounts:3
(B) The museum and preservation operations account, hereby4
created in the state historical fund, that consists of forty-nine and5
nine-tenths of one percent of the money received from the society in a6
fiscal year, AND THE MONEY TRANSFERRED TO THE ACCOUNT PURSUANT7
TO SECTION 44-30-701 (2)(a)(I.5)(A). Money in the account is subject to8
annual appropriation by the general assembly for the purposes set forth9
in subsection (5)(b) of this section.10
SECTION 3. Safety clause. The general assembly finds,11
determines, and declares that this act is necessary for the immediate12
preservation of the public peace, health, or safety or for appropriations for13
the support and maintenance of the departments of the state and state14
institutions.15
