Passed 3/26/26

Plain English: This amendment creates exceptions for when public meetings do not need to be streamed online due to executive sessions or unavoidable internet problems.

  • The rule requiring live streaming does not apply if the Public Service Commission holds a private meeting called an executive session.
  • The rule requiring live streaming does not apply if there are unexpected technical issues, such as bad internet connection.
  • If technical problems happen, officials must try their best to fix them and get the online stream working again.
  • The text does not define exactly what counts as 'unavoidable' or how long a problem can last before streaming is required.
