HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 28

RECOGNIZING APRIL 9, 2025, AS "DELAWARE TEACH CHILDREN TO SAVE DAY".

WHEREAS, the Delaware Financial Education Alliance in partnership with the University of Delaware’s Center for Economic Education and Entrepreneurship, began sponsoring Teach Children to Save Day in 1998 to foster a better understanding of the importance of savings and to enhance financial skills; and

WHEREAS, Teach Children to Save Day has helped bankers serve their communities by providing strong ties between banking and education; and

WHEREAS, last year over 100 bankers from 25 banks taught over 5,400 students throughout the State of Delaware and provided vital information about the benefits of saving; and

WHEREAS, the Delaware Financial Education Alliance is sponsoring the 27th annual Teach Children to Save Day on April 9, 2025, to recognize a quarter century of helping children save and to continue this important initiative.

NOW, THEREFORE:

BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the 153rd General Assembly, the Senate concurring therein, that the General Assembly hereby recognizes April 9, 2025, as “Delaware Teach Children to Save Day”.
