HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 31
DESIGNATING APRIL 10TH, 2025, AS “YOUTH AUTHOR DAY” IN THE STATE OF DELAWARE.
WHEREAS, youth authors, through their creativity, imagination, and unique perspectives, contribute to the rich tapestry of literary culture, inspiring both their peers and future generations; and
WHEREAS, youth writers courageously share their voices, bringing new narratives, fresh ideas, and diverse experiences to the world of literature, thereby enriching the literary landscape and encouraging critical thinking and empathy among readers of all ages; and
WHEREAS, Youth Author Day serves as a celebration of the talent, ambition, and perseverance displayed by youth writers, and recognizes the importance of nurturing their voices in a world that thrives on creative expression and storytelling; and
WHEREAS, supporting youth authors fosters a culture of literacy, self-expression, and confidence, empowering youth to use writing as a tool for self-discovery, social change, and advocacy on issues that matter to them and their communities; and
WHEREAS, Youth Author Day encourages educational institutions, literary organizations, and communities to provide resources, mentorship, and opportunities for youth writers to develop their craft and engage with the broader literary world.
NOW, THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the 153rd General Assembly of the State of Delaware, the Senate concurring therein, that the legislature designates April 10th, 2025, as “Youth Author Day” in the State of Delaware and that Delawareans take the time to reflect and appreciate the importance of youth writing and creativity.
