RECOGNIZING “I AM MY SISTER’S KEEPER” FOR ITS OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE EMPOWERMENT AND ADVANCEMENT OF GIRLS AND YOUNG WOMEN IN THE STATE OF DELAWARE.

WHEREAS,

“I Am My Sister’s Keeper” (IAMMSK) is a non-profit organization based in Wilmington, Delaware, working with promising girls between the ages of 6-25; introducing girls to people, places and things within Delaware, and beyond, to help them build character, self-esteem, love for community and sisterhood; and

WHEREAS,

IAMMSK was founded with a mission to guide the next generation of girls and young women, with a variety of holistic programming to reach their highest potential as Responsible, Resilient, Respectful women; and

WHEREAS,

IAMMSK’s vision is to empower, inspire, and uplift young girls through a variety of initiatives including educational workshops, cultural excursions, community service projects, and personal development programming; and

WHEREAS, IAMMSK creates safe and nurturing spaces where girls are encouraged to dream big and achieve their fullest potential; and

WHEREAS,

the organization’s initiatives have had a measurable impact on thousands of girls throughout Delaware and beyond, preparing them to thrive in school, careers, and community life through initiatives such as the Sisterhood Circles, Rites of Passage, Community Service, a S.T.E.A.M. curriculum and Self-Esteem improvement activities; and

WHEREAS,

IAMMSK also contributes to community empowerment by addressing systemic barriers and promoting equity for marginalized populations in Delaware; and

WHEREAS,

the General Assembly recognizes the crucial role that organizations like IAMMSK play in creating a more inclusive and equitable Delaware for future generations.

NOW, THEREFORE:

BE IT RESOLVED

by the House of Representatives of the 153rd Assembly of the State of Delaware, the Senate concurring therein, that I Am My Sister’s Keeper is hereby recognized and commended for its commitment, dedication, and service to the youth of Delaware and the continued empowerment of girls and young women.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED

that suitable copies of this resolution be presented to the leadership of I Am My Sister’s Keeper as an expression of the esteem in which the organization is held by the State of Delaware.

SYNOPSIS
