SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 130

EXTENDING THE RETAIL CRIME PREVENTION TASK FORCE.

WHEREAS, the Retail Crime Prevention Task Force (Task Force) was established on January 29, 2025, by Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 12 of 153rd General Assembly; and

WHEREAS, the Task Force was directed to compile a final report containing a summary of the Task Force’s work regarding the issues assigned to it under SCR 12, including any findings and recommendations, and submit the report to the General Assembly, the Governor, and the Director and Librarian of Legislative Services no later than March 1, 2026; and

WHEREAS, SCR 12 directed the Task Force to study and report its findings and recommendations on 6 areas related to the impacts of retail crime, opportunities to improve responses to retail crime, and to address the drivers of retail crime; and

WHEREAS, the Task Force has determined that additional time is necessary to fulfill this directive.

NOW, THEREFORE:

BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the 153rd General Assembly of the State of Delaware, the House of Representatives concurring therein, that the existence of the Retail Crime Prevention Task Force (Task Force), created by Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 12 of 153rd General Assembly, is extended until the submission of the final report.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the co-chairs of the Task Force must submit the final report assigned under SCR 12 no later than May 1, 2026.
