SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 174
RECOGNIZING APRIL 27 TO MAY 2, 2026, AS "AUCTIONEERS WEEK" IN THE STATE OF DELAWARE.
WHEREAS, auctioneering is one of history’s oldest professions; and
WHEREAS, auctions continue to be a fair, transparent, and effective means of establishing fair market value; and
WHEREAS, auction professionals strive to advance the auction method of marketing and subscribe to the highest-level Code of Ethics in serving the American public; and
WHEREAS, professional auctioneers play a vital role in the economy by facilitating the sale of real estate, farm equipment, estate assets, business inventory, and other goods through an efficient and competitive marketplace; and
WHEREAS, benefit auctions organized by professional auctioneers raise millions of dollars for charitable organizations every year, helping nonprofits support education, healthcare, community programs, and other vital services; and
WHEREAS, the designation of Auctioneers Week by the State of Delaware will heighten public awareness of the contributions auctioneers make.
NOW, THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the 153rd General Assembly of the State of Delaware, the House of Representatives concurring therein, that April 27 to May 2, 2026, is hereby recognized as "Auctioneers Week" in the State of Delaware.
SYNOPSIS
This Senate Concurrent Resolution recognizes April 27 to May 2, 2026, as "Auctioneers Week" in the State of Delaware.
