To amend, on an temporarybasis,theDepartment of For-HireVehiclesEstablishmentAct of
1985 toclarifythedefinitionof a privatevehicle-for-hireoperator.
BEITENACTEDBY THECOUNCILOFTHEDISTRICTOFCOLUMBIA,Thatthisactmaybecitedasthe“PrivateVehicle-for-HireOperatorClarificationTemporaryAmendmentActof2025”.
Sec,2.Section4(16C) of theDepartmentof For-HireVehiclesEstablishmentAct of
1985,effectiveMarch 25, 1986 (D.C. Law 6-97;D.C, OfficialCode § 50-301.03(16C)),is
amended toreadas follows:
“(16C)“Privatevehicle-for-hireoperator”means an individualwho utilizesthe
digitaldispatchofa privatevehicle-for-hirecompanytooperateamotorvehicletoprovide
transportationtopassengers.”.
Sec.3.Applicability.
ThisactshallapplyasofMarch1,2024.
