What This Bill Does

  • Allows the Mayor to issue an administrative order extending juvenile curfew hours beyond regular times if it is needed to protect public safety or property.
  • Requires the Mayor's order to specify where and when extended curfew hours will apply, with a minimum notice period of 24 hours unless there is an emergency.
  • Requires the Chief of Police to designate areas as extended juvenile curfew zones if they determine that doing so would help protect public safety or property.

  • Juveniles in Washington, D.C. who are subject to the extended curfew hours set by the Mayor or Chief of Police.
