BE ITENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICTOF COLUMBIA,Thatthis
actmaybecitedasthe“STEERClarificationEmergencyAmendmentActof2026”.
Sec.2.Section8(4)ofStrengtheningTrafficEnforcement,Education,andResponsibility(“STEER”) Amendment Actof 2024,effectiveApril20,2024 (D.C. Law 25-161;71 DCR 2248),is
amendedtoreadasfollows:
“(@)(1)Section3shallapply:“(A)WithrespecttotheIgnitionInterlockDeviceestablishedbysection10aof the Districtof Columbia TrafficAct, 1925,effectiveApril3,2001 (D.C.Law 13-238;D.C.
OfficialCode§50-2201.05a),asofJanuary1,2027;and
“(B)Forallotherpurposes,includingtheIntelligentSpeedAssistance
Programestablishedbysection10a-IoftheDistrictofColumbiaTrafficAct,1925,effectiveApril20,2024(D.C.Law25-161;D.C.OfficialCode§50-2201,05a-L),asoftheeffectivedateoftheSTEERClarificationEmergencyAmendmentActof2026,passedonemergencybasisonFebruary3,2026(EnrolledversionofB26-583).
“(2)Sections4(¢)and(),5,and6shallapplyasofJanuary1,2027.”.
