A CEREMONIAL RESOLUTION

26-30

IN THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA

April 1, 2025

To recognize and honor Eloise Pa ige, on the occasion of her 94th birthday, as an outstanding
member of her community and for her contributions to the District.

WHEREAS, Eloise Paige was born in Madison County, Virginia on March 3, 1931;

WHEREAS, Eloise Paige later moved to the District in 1952 and was a homemaker for
many years, becoming known as a homemaker to not only her own children but to every child in
the neighborhood, making sure that every child she came across had something to eat;

WHEREAS, Eloise Paige lived on Benning Road, East Capital Street, C Street, SE, Ridge
Road, SE, and Capital Heights, Maryland, where she currently resides;

WHEREAS, Eloise Paige was and continues to be a n outstanding deaconess at Northeast
Holy Trinity Church in Ward 6, having been a member of the church community since 1955;

WHEREAS, Eloise Pa ige was also an usher at Northeast Holy Trinity Church, assisting
parishioners during church services with whatever needs they had;

WHEREAS, Eloise Pa ige was heavily involved in and present at the church’s regular
clothing giveaways;

WHEREAS, Eloise Paige, alongside her fellow deaconesses in the church, would go to
community members’ homes to help clean and cook for those who were unable to do it for
themselves;

WHEREAS, Eloise Paige was known as a helper to those in the community, a woman of
faith, and is beloved by her church community and family; and

WHEREAS, Eloise Paige celebrated her 94th birthday on March 3, 2025.

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this
resolution may be cited as the "Eloise Paige Recognition Resolution of 2025".

Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia recognizes and honors Eloise Paige, on the
occasion of her 94th birthday, as an outstanding member of her community and for her
contributions to the District.

Sec. 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately.
