A CEREMONIAL RESOLUTION

IN THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA
December 16, 2025
To congratulate and celebrate the 2025 Coolidge Senior High School Colts Varsity Football Team
on a successful season and Turkey Bowl victory.
WHEREAS, the Coolidge Senior High School Colts Varsity Football Team completed an
outstanding 2025 season, demonstrating discipline, teamwork, and excellence on and off the field;
WHEREAS, the 2025 Turkey Bowl Championship game saw the Colts overcome a 14–0
deficit and mount a dramatic comeback, securing a 15–14 victory with a decisive fourth-quarter
two-point conversion;
WHEREAS, this championship marks the Colts’ first Turkey Bowl victory since 1986,
representing a historic achievement nearly four decades in the making;
WHEREAS, the team’s performance throughout the season and in the championship game
demonstrated resilience, grit, and unity, qualities that reflect the strength and pride of the Coolidge
community;
WHEREAS, the team’s success reflects the dedication of its student-athletes, including:

WHEREAS, the team benefited from the leadership and guidance of Head Coach Kevin
Nesbitt, Assistant Head Coaches Marques Nesbitt and Renaldo Brown, and assistant coaches
Jamiese Washington, Howard Gilmore, Michael Oliver, Fellonte Misher, Michael Holley, Malcolm

Hilliard, Jordan Clark, Darnell Brown, Marques Branch, Oluwafemi Bamiro, Aaron Manning, and
Jeff Silas;
WHEREAS, Athletic Director Herman Frazier provided critical support to the program and
contributed to the team’s successful season; and
WHEREAS, the team’s achievement exemplifies sportsmanship, resilience, and school
pride, and serves as an inspiration to students and families across the District of Columbia.
RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this
resolution may be cited as the “Coolidge Senior High School Colts Varsity Football Team
Recognition Resolution of 2025.”
Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia recognizes, honors, and celebrates the
Coolidge Senior High School Colts Varsity Football Team for their exceptional 2025 season and
their Turkey Bowl championship victory.
Sec. 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately.
