A CEREMONIAL RESOLUTION
26-126
IN THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA
February 3, 2026
To recognize, honor, and celebrate the life of Donna Lorraine Wright-Miller for her lifelong
service, compassion, and dedication to the people and communities of the District of
Columbia.
WHEREAS, Ms. Donna Lorraine Wright-Miller was born on March 14, 1964, to Earl
Wright, Jr. and Sarah M. Wright in Washington, D.C.;
WHEREAS, Ms. Wright-Miller was a proud graduate of McKinley Technology High
School, attended the New Sewell Music Conservatory with a focus on piano, and received her
Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of Social Work from Howard University;
WHEREAS, Ms. Wright-Miller was deeply rooted in her faith, and worshipped at Asbury
United Methodist Church and, in recent years, the Takoma Metaphysical Chapel;
WHEREAS, Ms. Wright-Miller was deeply committed to the field of social work and
holistic healing, and spent her career working with children, families, and seniors at the District
of Columbia Child and Family Services Agency and MBI Health Services, LLC;
WHEREAS, Ms. Wright-Miller spent her life in community and service to the people of
the District of Columbia;
WHEREAS, Ms. Wright-Miller was dedicated to honoring the legacy of her late father
and instrumental in securing the naming of the 3800 block of 10th St NW as Earl Wright Jr. Way;
WHEREAS, Ms. Wright-Miller spent her life rooted in love for her family and steadfast
devotion to her friends and loved ones;
WHEREAS, Ms. Wright-Miller touched countless lives through her warmth and light,
found joy in hosting gatherings, sharing her vegan home cooking and holistic care rituals, and
bringing people together in fellowship and community, and;

WHEREAS, Ms. Wright-Miller's lasting legacy of service, compassion, and kindness
will live on in the many people who knew her, loved her, and were uplifted by her life.
RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this
resolution may be cited as the “Donna Lorraine Wright-Miller Memorial Recognition Resolution
of 2026”.
Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia recognizes, honors, and remembers the life
of Ms. Donna Wright-Miller.
Sec. 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately.
