A CEREMONIAL RESOLUTION
26-168
IN THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA
June 2, 2026
To recognize the 70th anniversary of Continental Societies, Inc. and honor the organization for its
extraordinary legacy of service and unwavering commitment to excellence.
WHEREAS, Continental Societies, Inc., founded in 1956, has devoted seventy years of
exemplary service to enriching the lives of children and youth across the nation, including here
in the District of Columbia;
WHEREAS, this organization has strengthened communities through impactful service,
civic engagement, and an enduring commitment to the well-being of young people;
WHEREAS, through the dedicated efforts of its members, Continental Societies, Inc. has
generously contributed its time, talent and resources to advance programs in health, education,
employment, recreation, and the arts and humanities;
WHEREAS, through its signature programs and hands-on initiatives, this organization
has addressed critical needs facing children and youth, fostering academic enrichment, cultural
enrichment, and workforce readiness;
WHEREAS, Continental Societies, Inc. has cultivated generations of women leaders
committed to volunteerism, philanthropy, and advocacy, setting a standard of excellence and
service that extends far beyond its membership;
WHEREAS, through their strong emphasis on mentorship and leadership development
Continental Societies, Inc. has inspired young people to realize their full potential and become
the next generation of leaders and change-makers;
WHEREAS the legacy of Continental Societies, Inc. is defined not only by its longevity,
but by the lives transformed, the opportunities created, and the enduring spirit of service carried
forward by its members; and

WHEREAS the celebration of this 70th anniversary marks a remarkable milestone,
honoring a proud history of service while reaffirming a steadfast commitment to shaping brighter
futures in the years ahead.
RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That the
Council of the District of Columbia recognizes Continental Societies, Inc. for their extraordinary
commitment to service and looks forward to the continued impact that the organization will have
in their next 70 years.
Sec. 2. The resolution may be cited as the “Continental Societies, Inc. Recognition
Resolution of 2026.”
Sec. 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately.
