To recognize and honor Theresa DuBois, a Ward 4 District resident, for her over forty years of 26
dedicated service to the District of Columbia. 27

WHEREAS, Ms. DuBois has devoted more than four decades of her professional life to 29
service in the District of Columbia, demonstrating an enduring commitment to engage, excite, 30
and entertain D.C. residents while creating economic and community benefits across the city; 31
WHEREAS, Theresa DuBois served the District government with distinction, including 32
as Director of Community Engagement for Events D.C. where she has made everyone who steps 33
into the Convention Center feel welcome and acted as an incredible ambassador for DC to 34
visitors from near and far; 35

WHEREAS, Theresa DuBois has had many admirable achievements during her time with 36
Events D.C. including the success of Washington DC's Auto Show, which brought in over 37
100,000 attendees annually, making it one of the top auto shows in the country. 38
WHEREAS, Theresa DuBois’s efforts to support the Community Grant’s Program 39
created opportunities for non-profits in the District to give opportunities and life-long learned 40
skills in artist and athletic endeavors; and 41
WHEREAS, Theresa DuBois has earned the respect of District leaders, civic 42
organizations, and community members for her accomplishments but also for her kindness and 43
care. Colleagues and residents value her for her commitment to the community and building 44
lasting connections with the neighborhood. 45
RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this 46
resolution may be cited as the "Theresa DuBois Service Recognition Resolution of 2026". 47
Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia recognizes and celebrates Theresa 48
DuBois for her outstanding service to the District of Columbia and commends Ms. DuBois for 49
her decades of exemplary public service, civic leadership, and lasting contributions to the 50
District’s government, institutions, and communities. 51
Sec. 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon the first date of publication in 52
the District of Columbia Register. 53
