In accordance with section 2 of the Confirmation Act of 1978, effective March 3, 1979 (D.C. Law 2-
142; D.C. Official Code§ 1-523.01), and pursuant to section 4604 of the Child Fatality Review
Committee Establishment Act of 2001, effective October 3, 2001, (D.C. Law 14-28; D.C. Official Code
§ 4-1371.04), I am pleased to nominate the following person:

A PROPOSED RESOLUTION
IN THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA
To confirm the reappointment of Dr. Cheryl Williams to the Child Fatality Review Committee:
RESOLVED , BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, that this
resolution may be cited as the "Child Fatality Review Committee Dr. Cheryl Williams
Confirmation Resolution of 2025".
Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia confirms the reappointment of:

as a community representative member of the Child Fatality Review Committee, established by
section 4603 of the Child Fatality Review Committee Establishment Act of 2001, effective
October 3, 2001, (D.C. Law 14-28; D.C. Official Code§ 4-1371.03), for a term to end April 20,
2027.
Sec. 3. The Council of the District of Columbia shall transmit a copy of this resolution,
upon its adoption, to the nominee and to the Office of the Mayor.
Sec. 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately.

Dr. Cheryl Williams
Dr. Cheryl Williams is a semi -retired pediatrician. She has aided the
citizens of the District of Columbia for more than 23 years as a physician
in the public health care system. Dr. Williams also served as a Medical
Officer and Supervisory Medical Officer for the District of Columbia
Community and School Health Program and worked as Medical
Director of the Child and Family Services Agency (CFSA). In this
capacity, she provided executive leadership, strategic planning, and
organizational development in administrative and clinical oversight in
all matters related to the well-being of children, including physical and
mental health and ancillary services.
Dr. Williams played a role in creating CFSA’s on -site Medicaid -reimbursable medical clinic,
which is staffed with nurse practitioners, for children entering, re-entering, and who experience a
re-placement while in foster care.
A Ward 7 resident, Dr. Williams earned her Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Howard
University and her Doctor of Medicine from Case Western Reserve University.
