A RESOLUTION

26-281

IN THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA

December 16, 2025

To approve the installation of a commemorative work located in public space adjacent to the
Embassy of Spain at 2375 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, to be known as Bernardo de
Galvez: A Friend of Independence.

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this
resolution may be cited as the “Installation of Statue of Bernardo de Galvez Commemorative
Work Approval Resolution of 2025”.

Sec. 2. Pursuant to section 401 of the Street and Alley Closing and Acquisition
Procedures Act of 1982, effective March 10, 1983 (D.C. Law 4-201; D.C. Official Code § 9-
204.01), the Council approves the installation of a commemorative work, consisting of a statue
of Bernardo de Galvez, associated signage, and associated improvements, on public space
adjacent to the Embassy of Spain at 2375 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW.

Sec. 3. Transmittal.
The Council shall transmit a copy of this resolution, upon its adoption, to the Mayor and
the Spain-USA Foundation.

Sec. 4. Fiscal impact statement.
The Council adopts the fiscal impact statement in the committee report as the fiscal
impact statement required by section 4a of the General Legislative Procedures Act of 1975,
approved October 16, 2006 (120 Stat. 2038; D.C. Official Code § 1-301.47a).

Sec. 5. Effective date.
This resolution shall take effect immediately.
