Wrestling Commission Act of 1975, effective October 8, 1975 (D.C. Law 1- 20; D.C. Official Code §

17 RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA , That this
18 resolution may be cited as the "Combat Sports Commission Christopher Jenkins Confirmation
19 Resolution of 2025".
20 Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia confirms the reappointment of:

3 0 Sec. 3. The Council of the District of Columbia shall transmit a copy of this resolution,
31 upon its adoption, to the nominee and to the Office of the Mayor.
32 Sec. 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately.

Christopher Jenkins

Mr. Christopher Jenkins is an award-winning documentary film producer,
writer, and journalist.
Over his 20- year career, Mr. Jenkins has highlighted stories on social
justice, identity, and progressive culture with a focus on race, class, and
equity. Mr. Jenkins produced YouTube Originals’ Trapped: Cash Bail in
America, Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) documentary series Shame
of Chicago, and the film Anthem. Prior to producing films, Mr. Jenkins
served nearly two decades as a Washington Post reporter and editor where
he covered and led journalism around politics, criminal justice,
immigration, culture, and race. Mr. Jenkins also served as TheRoot.com
Managing Editor, ESPN’s HBCU Football: Our Time special; the
independent film Rikers: Innocence Lost producer and writer, and Van Jones: The First Step story
producer, which premiered at the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival. In addition, Mr. Jenkins was a core
member of the Washington Post’s coverage of the Virginia Tech shooting massacre which
garnered the 2008 Pulitzer Prize.
Mr. Jenkins has received several accolades for his contributions to film including the A Show for
Change Film Festival’s Social Impact Award and Justice For All Award.
A Ward 3 resident, Mr. Jenkins earned his Bachelor of Arts in History with a focus on Black
Studies from Oberlin College, his Master of Arts in Journalism from the University of California
at Berkeley, and his Master of Arts in Specialized Journalism from the University of Southern
California.
