17 RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, that this
18 resolution may be cited as the "Maternal Mortality Review Committee Aza Nedhari
19 Confirmation Resolution of 2025".
20 Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia confirms the reappointment of:

31 Sec. 3. The Council of the District of Columbia shall transmit a copy of this resolution,

Aza Nedhari

Ms. Aza Nedhari currently serves as the Founding Executive Director
of Mamatoto Village, a perinatal family support organization in
Washington, DC, that has been successful in securing Medicaid
Managed Care reimbursement for non- clinical perinatal support
services. She brings more than 18 years of experience in youth
development, reproductive and sexual health education, program
management and development, and curriculum design.
Ms. Nedhari has also designed a comprehensive curriculum for training
perinatal health workers through a two -year workforce development
program that builds upon the community health worker model.
Ms. Nedhari is a fiercely dedicated woman who believes that by promoting health equity the
reduction of barriers in maternal and child health begin to dissipate, giving rise to healthy
individuals, families, and communities. She is currently a doctoral student at Capella University,
studying organizational leadership and management, with an eye towards cultivating innovative
models of perinatal care delivery in high needs communities.
A Maryland resident, Ms. Nedhari earned her Bachelor of Arts in African American Studies and
Criminal Justice from Temple University and her Master of Science in Marriage, Couple, and
Family Therapy from Capella University.
