19 resolution may be cited as the "Maternal Mortality Review Committee Dr. Constance Bohon

Dr. Constance Bohon

Dr. Constance Bohon is an obstetrician-gynecologist who has been in
private practice in Washington , DC since 1982. Dr. Bohon c urrently
serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Obstetrics
and Gynecology at the George Washington School of Medicine and
Health Sciences . She is also an attending in the Department of
Obstetrics and Gynecology at Sibley Hospital.
Since residency, Dr. Bohon has held many leadership positions and
participated in many committees at the American College of
Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG). Most recently she was the
Chair of the DC Fellow Section of ACOG. Currently, she serves as the
Legislative Chair for the DC Section and is a member of the National Scientific Program
Committee for ACOG.
Dr. Bohon was instrumental in the organization of the Committee to Improve Obstetrical Care in
DC, which was convened in October 2017 after the closure of the obstetrical units at U nited
Medical Center and Providence Hospital. This committee is multidisciplinary and includes
representatives from each hospital and birthing center in DC, obstetricians, midwives,
representatives from each of the Medicaid providers in DC (Trusted, Amerigroup and
AmeriHealth), staff from the offices of members of the Council of the District of Columbia , DC
Health, the Department of Healthcare Finance, and the District of Columbia Fire & Emergency
Medical Services Department.
A Maryland resident, Dr. Bohon earned her Bachelor of Arts from Mount Holyoke College and
her Doctor of Medicine from George Washington University.
