In accordance with section 2 of the Confirmation Act of 1978, effective March 3, 1979 (D.C. Law 2-
142; D.C. Official Code § 1- 523.01), and pursuant to section 2 of An Act To provide for voluntary
apprenticeship in the District of Columbia, approved May 21, 1946 (60 Stat. 204; D.C. Official Code
§ 32-1402), I am pleased to nominate the following person:

for appointment as a representative of an employe e organization member of the Apprenticeship
Council, filling a vacant seat formerly held by Violet Carter, for the remainder of an unexpired term to

nominee, together with a proposed resolution to assist the Council during the confirmation process.

A PROPOSED RESOLUTION
IN THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA
To confirm the reappointment of Eric Jones to the Apprenticeship Council.
RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, that this
resolution may be cited as the "Apprenticeship Council Eric Jones Confirmation Resolution of
2025".
Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia confirms the appointment of:

as a representative of an employee organization member of the Apprenticeship Council,
established by section 2 of An Act to provide for voluntary apprenticeship in the District of
Columbia, approved May 21, 1946 (60 Stat. 204; D.C. Official Code§ 32-1402), filling a vacant
seat formerly held by Violet Carter, for the remainder of an unexpired term to end November 19,
2027.
Sec. 3. The Council of the District of Columbia shall transmit a copy of this resolution,
upon its adoption, to the nominee and to the Office of the Mayor.
Sec. 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately.

metropolitan area before the DC Government (Executive & Legislative Branches)
• Tracked legislation and drafted legislative updates and policy statements for the chapter related to

Eric Jones
Mr. Eric Jones is a seasoned political strategist with two decades of
experience advising businesses, campaigns, candidates , and non-
government organizations. For the last four years, Mr. Jones has served
as the VP of Government Affairs, DC -Commercial for the Apartment &
Office Building Association of Metropolitan Washington (AOBA). In his
role, Mr. Jones is responsible for representing the organization and its
membership before the executive and legislative branches of the District
Government. In addition, Mr. Jones also represents the AOBA before
community groups, citizen/civic associations and as their representative
in various trade associations as well as on the board of several
organizations.
Prior to his work at AOBA, Mr. Jones spent almost 13 years as the Associate Director of
Government Affairs for the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Metro Washington.
ABC of Metro Washington is the pre-eminent advocate for fair and open competition and the merit
shop philosophy, and the premiere construction association in the metropolitan Washington, D.C.
area.
Prior to his work with ABC of Metro Washington, Mr. Jones ran his own consulting firm
specializing in small business, non-profit and political consulting. He is also a former
congressional staffer, consultant to the Democratic National Committee and At- Large DC City
Council Candidate (2014). Mr. Jones continues to serve as a trainer/coach in the areas of campaign
management and political strategy. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Academy of
Hope Adult Public Charter School, the DC Sustainable Energy Utility Advisory Board, DC’s
Youth Apprenticeship Advisory Council , the DC Jobs Coalition, a four -time mayoral appointee
and a past member of the Board of the Premier Community Development Corporation, the DC
Democratic State Committee and the DC Young Democrats.
A Ward 4 resident, Mr. Jones earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from
Morehouse College and his Master of Science in Finance from the New England College of
Business.
