17 RESOLVED , BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA , That this
18 resolution may be cited as the "Commission on Poverty Ya Vonne Boyd Confirmation Resolution
19 of 2026".
20 Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia confirms the appointment of:

28 of the Commission on Poverty Establishment Amendment Act of 2020, effective March 16, 2021
29 (D.C. Law 23-184; D.C. Official Code§ 3-641.02), filling a vacant seat formerly held by
30 Juliahna Green, for the remainder of an unexpired term to end January 1, 2028.
31 Sec. 3. The Council of the District of Columbia shall transmit a copy of this resolution,
32 upon its adoption, to the nominee and to the Office of the Mayor.
33 Sec. 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately.

s. YaVonne Boyd is a dedicated social service professional with over
20 years of experience advocating for underserved populations and
promoting equitable access to critical resources. With a strong
background in program development and community outreach, Ms. Boyd
has worked across sectors to address the root causes of poverty, housing
insecurity, and systemic inequality.
Throughout her career, Ms. Boyd has held key positions at organizations
such as DC Department of Health, DC Cancer Consortium and A Wider
Circle’s Ward 8 Hub, where she has led initiatives focused on increasing
access to care and providing critical resources to the underserved. Ms.
Boyd has partnered with local governments, nonprofits, and community leaders to design and
implement evidence-based programs that deliver measurable outcomes.
A Ward 1 resident, Ms. Boyd earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of the
District of Columbia and her Master of Professional Studies from the University of Denver
University College.
