142; D.C. Official Code § 1-523.01), and pursuant to section 102 of the Commission on Poverty
Establishment Amendment Act of 2020, effective March 16, 2021 (D.C. Law 23-184; D.C. Official
Code § 3-641.02), I am pleased to nominate the following individual:

17 RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this
18 resolution may be cited as the "Commission on Poverty David Schultz Confirmation Resolution
19 of 2026".
20 Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia confirms the appointment of:

28 of the Commission on Poverty Establishment Amendment Act of 2020, effective March 16, 2021
29 (D.C. Law 23-184; D .C . Official Code§ 3-641.02), filling a vacant seat formerly held by Sherry
30 Pate, for the remainder of an unexpired term to end November 18, 2026.
31 Sec. 3. The Council of the District of Columbia shall transmit a copy of this resolution,
32 upon its adoption, to the nominee and to the Office of the Mayor.
33 Sec. 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately.

r. David Schultz is the Operations Manager at the Frederick Douglass
Project for Justice, where he leads daily operations and facilitates
programs that build connections between incarcerated individuals and the
broader community. He also serves part-time as Special Assistant and
Strategic Initiatives Advisor at Negotiation Works, supporting program
development and strategic partnerships.
Outside of work, Mr. Schultz serves on the boards of ACLU-DC and The
League of Women Voters.
A Ward 5 resident, Mr. Schultz earned his certificate in paralegal studies
from Adams State University.
