A PROPOSED RESOLUTION
IN THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA
To confirm the reappointment of Korie Booker to the Board of Barber and Cosmetology
RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this
resolution may be cited as the "Board of Barber and Cosmetology Korie Booker Confirmation
Resolution of 2026".
Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia confirms the reappointment of:

(Ward 6)
as a body artist licensed in the District member of the Board of Barber and Cosmetology,
established by D.C. Official Code§ 47-2853.06(c), for the remainder of an unexpired term to
end December 13, 2028.
Sec. 3. The Council of the District of Columbia shall transmit a copy of this resolution,
upon its adoption, to the nominee and to the Office of the Mayor.
Sec. 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately.

orie Booker is currently a permanent make-up artist at Elite Image
in Washington, DC. Before working in permanent make-up, Ms. Booker
was a dance instructor. While teaching dance and managing an after -
school program she studied cosmetology, ultimately lead ing to her
current career in permanent make-up.
A Ward 6 resident, Ms. Booker earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Dance
Education from Berea College and her Associate Degree in Cosmetology
from Bennett Career Institute.
