17 RESOLVED , BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this
18 resolution may be cited as the "Commission on African-American Affairs Victor Battle
19 Confirmation Resolution of 2026".
20 Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia confirms the appointment of:

31 Sec. 3. The Council of the District of Columbia shall transmit a copy of this resolution,

r. Victor Battle is the President and Founder of Right Directions, a
nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering at -risk youth and
returning citizens through mentorship, workforce development, and
community-based intervention. A proud Washington, DC native and
father of nine, Mr. Battle has spent more than a decade serving as a trusted
leader, mentor, and change agent within some of the city’s most
underserved communities.
Mr. Battle’s journey is both personal and transformational. As a returning
citizen, he has firsthand experience navigating the barriers faced by
individuals seeking to rebuild their lives after incarceration. Rather than
allowing those obstacles to define him, Victor transformed his lived
experience into a powerful foundation for service, advocacy, and systems-level change. His work
is deeply informed by commitment to justice, equity, and youth empowerment.
Throughout his career, Mr. Battle has served as a case manager, outreach specialist, and workforce
development leader, supporting youth and returning citizens in accessing critical resources,
including housing, education, job placement, and mental health services.
A Ward 8 resident, Mr. Battle earned his high diploma.
