A RESOLUTION

26-380

IN THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA

April 7, 2026

To amend the Rules of Organization and Procedure for the Council of the District of Columbia,
Council Period 26, Resolution of 2025, to authorize the transmission of the Fiscal Year
2027 Budget and Financial Plan during a period of recess.

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this
resolution may be cited as the “Council Period 26 Recess Rules Amendment Resolution of
2026”.

Sec. 2. (a) Section 306(b) of the Rules of Organization and Procedure for the Council of
the District of Columbia, Council Period 26, Resolution of 2025, effective January 2, 2025 (Res.
26-1; 72 DCR 1289), is amended by adding a new paragraph (5) to read as follows:
“(5) The Fiscal Year 2027 Local Budget Act of 2026, the Fiscal Year 2027 Local
Budget Emergency Act of 2026, the Fiscal Year 2027 Budget Support Act of 2026, the Fiscal
Year 2026 Revised Local Budget Emergency Act of 2026, the Fiscal Year 2026 Revised Local
Budget Temporary Act of 2026, and the Fiscal Year 2027 Federal Portion Budget Request Act of
2026 may be introduced during any recess period.”.
(b) This section shall expire on April 20, 2026.

Sec. 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately.
