142; D.C. Official Code § 1- 523.01), and pursuant to s ection 5 of the Office of Citizen Complaint
Review Establishment Act of 1998, effective March 26, 1999 (D.C. Law 12-208; D.C. Official Code
§ 5-1104), I am pleased to nominate the following individual:

A PROPOS ED RESOLUTION
IN THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA
To confirm the appointment of Glenn Marcus to the Police Complaints Board.
RESOLVED , BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA , That this
resolution may be cited as the "Police Complaints Board Glenn Marcus Confirmation Resolution
of 2026".
Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia confirms the appointment of:

(Ward 3)
as the Ward 3 member of the Police Complaints Board, established by section 5 of the Office of
Citizen Complaint Review Establishment Act of 1998, effective March 26, 1999 (D.C. Law 12-
208; D.C Official Code§ 5-1104), filling a new seat, for a term to end January 12, 2029.
Sec. 3. The Council of the District of Columbia shall transmit a copy of this resolution,
upon its adoption, to the nominee and to the Mayor.
Sec. 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately.

from UC Santa Cruz to the University of Pennsylvania. Latest academic publication - Review of the
documentary “Something About a Wall” by Ross McElwee, in Film and History Journal, Spring 2012.

Shared series portfolio for The American Experience, Nova, Nature, and other ongoing and limited
series. Oversaw countless “specials.” Organizer of the 50th anniversary programming on WWII and the
Korean conflict, plus special efforts on the Vietnam War and the Holocaust.

Mr.
Glenn Marcus, now semi -retired, has served as a documentary
filmmaker, press freedom advocate, federal grants administrator,
schoolteacher, university professor, and community activist. He has
made four PBS national primetime programs, and taught documentary
film history at the University level, science in middle school, and GED
studies in a correctional institution. Mr. Marcus serves on the Press
Freedom Team of the National Press Club, on the board of his community
association, and as Vice Chair of a community group advising the
Metropolitan Police Department. His grants work included thirteen years
at the National Endowment for the Humanities and twelve years at PBS
headquarters. He has lectured at several national conferences and at
universities from UC Santa Barbara to Penn, and has presented locally at the Library of Congress,
the National Archives, and the National Gallery of Art.
A Ward 3 resident, Mr. Marcus earned his Bachelor of Arts in Humanities from John Hopkins
University.
