Review Establishment Act of 1998, effective March 26, 1999 (D.C. Law 12-208; D.C. Official Code

17 RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this
18 resolution may be cited as the "Police Complaints Board Edward Sanders Confirmation
19 Resolution of 2026".
20 Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia confirms the appointment of:

27 as the Ward 1 member of the Police Complaints Board, established by section 5 of the Office of
28 Citizen Complaint Review Establishment Act of 1998, effective March 26, 1999 (D.C. Law 12-
29 208; D.C Official Code§ 5-1104), filling a new seat, for a term to end January 12, 2028.
30 Sec. 3. The Council of the District of Columbia shall transmit a copy of this resolution,
31 upon its adoption, to the nominee and to the Mayor.
32 Sec. 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately.

Mr.
Edward Sanders is an experienced external affairs and policy leader
with a strong track record in public engagement, government relations,
and strategic communications. He currently serves as Relationship
Manager at the United Negro College Fund. He also serves as the Director
of Programming for Development and External Affairs at the Gloucester
Institute.
Additionally, he was appointed by the Governor of Virginia to serve on
the Board of Visitors at Norfolk State University and has been serving in
this role since July 2024.
A Ward 1 resident, Mr. Sanders earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political
