effective December 7, 2004 (D.C. Law 15-216; D.C. Official Code § 2- 1404.03), I am pleased to

IN THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA
To confirm the reappointment oflsabelle Vladoiu as a member of the Commission on Human
Rights.
RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this
resolution may be cited as the "Commission on Human Rights Isabelle Vladoiu Confirmation
Resolution of 2026".
Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia confirms the reappointment of:

as a member of the Commission on Human Rights, established by section 401 of the Human
Rights Act of 1977, effective December 7, 2004 (D.C. Law 15-216; D .C. Official Code§ 2-
1404.01), for a term to end December 31, 2029.
Sec. 3. The Council of the District of Columbia shall transmit a copy of this resolution,
upon its adoption, to the nominee and to the Mayor.
Sec. 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately.

sabelle Vladoiu
Ms.
Isabelle Vladoiu is an International Human Rights Law Specialist and
the founder of the US Institute of Diplomacy and Human Rights. O ver
more than a decade working in human rights, Ms. Vladoiu has trained
more than 15,000 people in human rights education, human trafficking
prevention, DEI, and global security. Her expertise has been shared with
individuals, policymakers in Congress, government officials, and leaders
of international organizations.
Ms. Vladoiu’s service has been recognized by two American Presidents,
first with the President's Volunteer Service Award in 2018 and again with
the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022. Other recognition of her work
has included letters of appreciation from governors, s enators and
representatives, local legislators, and non- governmental organizations. In addition, she’s the
author of two books: How to Become a Human Rights Professional and Business Etiquette Secrets.
Ms. Vladoiu is committed to making the world a better place through her involvement with several
international organizations. Throughout her long and varied career, she has partnered with the
United Nations, UNESCO, and the Organization of American States on topics related to
sustainability, security, human rights, and diplomacy. She is the Editor in Chief of the Global
Ambassadors Journal and an expert in using events to promote international relations. She has led
the International Human Rights Summit at the United Nations for several years, in addition to two
other summits, the Diplomacy and Human Rights Summit and the International Summit on
Disability Rights . Through these events, Ms. Vladoiu provides an open platform for dialogue
between people from various countries and backgrounds. This ultimately results in peaceful
collaborations and a greater understanding of human rights across borders.
A Ward 1 resident, Ms. Vladoiu earned her Bachelor of Laws from the University of Bucharest
School of Law, her Master of Laws in Human Rights Law from the U niversity at Buffalo School
of Law, and her Master of Laws in International Law from Transilvania University of Brasov.
