To confirm the appointment of Dr. Jamila Jorden to the Board of Pharmacy.
RESOLVED , BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA , That this
resolution may be cited as the "Board of Pharmacy Dr. Jamila Jorden Confirmation Resolution
of 2026".
Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia confirms the reappointment of:

Sec. 3. The Council of the District of Columbia shall transmit a copy of this resolution,
upon its adoption, to the nominee and to the Office of the Mayor.

day-to-day operations.
• Coordinated and oversaw the interviewing and hiring of any potential new personnel for the
department.

improvement plans, when necessary.
• Alignment of the HUCOP policies and operations to the ACPE standards.
• Established the necessary quality assurance plans for the Experiential Education Department.
• Increased the number of partnerships and pharmacy practice sites and coordinated the yearly

• Delivered, reviewed, and updated the budget needed to ensure a productive department that
aligned with the College of Pharmacy and the University’s goals.

staff members, to ensure a collaborative and well-organized department.

r. Jamila Jorden is a current member of the Board of Pharmacy.
During her career, Dr. Jorden developed a passion for working with
pharmacy students and pharmacists just starting off in their careers. This
passion stemmed from Dr. Jorden precepting not only Introductory
Pharmacy Practice Experience and Advanced Pharmacy Practice
Experience students who completed an experience at her practice site but
also Foundations of Managed Care Pharmacy Pfizer/summer interns.
Additionally, Dr. Jorden was the residency program director, for over 10
years, for the ASHP accredited PGY-1 managed care program at
PerformRx. Dr. Jorden decided to return to her alma mater as an Assistant
Professor and the Assistant Director of Experiential Programs at Howard University College of
Pharmacy. Since then, Dr. Jorden expanded her role at Howard University to become the Director
of Experiential Program for the College of Pharmacy. In her role, she is responsible for the
practical experience component of the pharmacy curriculum. In addition to her work with the
College of Pharmacy, Dr. Jorden is also a member of the Washington DC Pharmacy Association,
the Washington Metropolitan Society of Health Systems Pharmacists (as a past Board Member),
the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (recently served as a member of the Legislative and
Regulatory Action Committee), the American Pharmacists Association, the American Association
of Colleges of Pharmacy, and various civic organizations. Recently, Dr. Jorden was elected as the
chair elect for the Experiential Education section of the American Association of Colleges of
Pharmacy (AACP).
A Ward 5 resident, D r. Jorden earned h er Master of Business Administration from Drexel
University and her Doctor of Pharmacy from Howard University.
