The OFRB assists the District of Columbia’s efforts to prevent opioid overdose deaths and inform
prevention and intervention efforts. The OFRB reviews opioid deaths in the District and makes
recommendations to improve the activities and response of government agencies, private
organizations, individuals, and the community. As the Vice Chair, I host monthly meetings with
the Board chair and OFRB members where we review opioid death cases to provide policy
recommendations to the Mayor.

T
he Honorable Dr. Jewell Reddick is an Administrative Law Judge in the
Civil Remedies Division of the Departmental Appeals Board at the U.S.
Department of Health and Human Services, as well as a CVS Health
Pharmacist.
His legal experience includes his time as an attorney at the U.S.
Department of Health and Human Services Departmental Appeals Board
and as the Director of the Civil Remedies Division-Tobacco Cases. As a
pharmacist, he has worked at CVS, Walmart, and Kaiser Permanente
Capitol Hill Center.
Dr. Reddick has ample experience serving on boards: He has been a
member of the College of Pharmacy’s Apothecary Board of Visitors since 2019 and currently
serves as the Vice Chair of the District of Columbia Opioid Fatality Review Board.
A Ward 7 resident, Dr. Reddick earned his Doctor of Pharmacy from Florida Agricultural and
Mechanical University and his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami.
