Plain English Breakdown

The official metadata contains conflicting information: it states the bill 'Passed Legislature' but also lists the last action as 'Died in Commerce Committee'. This contradiction makes the final legal status unclear based solely on this text.

Transportation Concurrency for Small Counties

This bill changes the rules for small counties regarding which transportation facilities must be listed in their comprehensive plans.

What This Bill Does

  • Amends Florida Statute section 163.3180 to update requirements for capital improvements elements.
  • Requires that these plans identify facilities needed during a 5-year period or to maintain current levels of service specifically for small counties.

Who It Names or Affects

  • Small counties as defined in Florida Statute section 339.2818(2).
  • Local governments creating comprehensive plans that impose transportation concurrency rules.

Limits and Unknowns

  • The bill text does not define which specific counties qualify as 'small' beyond referencing another statute.
  • The official status notes the bill passed both chambers but also states it died in committee, creating uncertainty about its final enactment.
