Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 10

Section 1. Section 683.338, Florida Statutes, is created 12
to read: 13
683.338 Responsible Firearm Safety Awareness Month.— 14
(1) The Legislature designates the month of June as 15
"Responsible Firearm Safety Awareness Month" to recognize the 16
importance of safe and responsible firearm use and ownership, 17
while honoring the guarantees of the Second Amendment to the 18
United States Constitution and of s. 8, Art. I of the State 19
Constitution. 20
(2) The Department of Law Enforcement, local governments, 21
and other agencies and organizations are encouraged to sponsor 22
events that promote public awareness on the dangers of firearms 23
and educate the public through voluntary training and safety 24
demonstrations. 25
